Can Wake Up Singapore tell us what is the use of legalising the use of recreational marijuana when it is not the smoking of marijuana but the administration of pure marijuana extracts that might have medical benefits?
Based on their logic, can we safely say taking any medication for recreational purposes is ok since they all have medicinal properties too?
BTW This is what CNB said in their booklet,
- Despite the claims made about the efficacy of cannabis as a medicine, the medical benefits of cannabis are not conclusive at this point. Much more medical research and tests are still needed.
- If cannabis is indeed proven to have medicinal value, it must still be controlled and administered in the same professional manner as other controlled drugs, such as the use of morphine for pain management.
